Movement Mortgage LLC is expanding its existing corporate headquarters in Lancaster County. The company is investing $18 million and creating more than 700 jobs over the next five years.
“This hiring and expansion is going to help drive our business forward,” Movement Mortgage CEO and co-founder Casey Crawford said.
Located in the Bailes Ridge Corporate Park on State Road 160, the company will be constructing a 91,000-square-foot addition to its office complex. Hiring for the new positions is projected to begin in the first quarter of 2017, and interested applicants should visit the company's careers page online.
“This was a very competitive project with other states. Movement Mortgage's decision to double the size of its Lancaster County operation speaks volumes about the state and county's excellent business climate,” Lancaster County Economic Development Director Jamie Gilbert said.
Founded in 2008, the company started with four employees. Today, the firm's total employment exceeds 4,100, including more than 650 at its Lancaster County headquarters. Movement Mortgage has licensed operations in 48 states.
“Lancaster County is very excited that Movement Mortgage will expand its headquarters in Indian Land,” Lancaster County Council Chairman Steve Harper said. “In just over a year, they have become one of the county's leading corporate facility operations and have exceeded their initial projection for jobs and investment.”
The Coordinating Council for Economic Development has approved job development credits related to the project.
