Los Angeles-based Blaze Fast Fire’d Pizza today opened its second Columbia location at the Village at Sandhill.
The restaurant, which features build-your-own pizzas, is located at 471-1 Towne Center Place near the Regal Cinema. The 2,800-square-foot store restaurant has indoor seating for 71 patrons and another 52 guests on an outdoor patio.
The restaurant features an open-kitchen format that allows guests to customize one of the menu’s pizzas or create their own. The pizzas are baked in an open-flame oven and are ready to eat in three minutes.
The first Blaze Pizza restaurant opened on Aug. 6, 2012, in Irvine, Calif., and the company currently operates 190 restaurants in 32 states and Canada. Founded by Elise and Rick Wetzel (co-founder of Wetzel’s Pretzels), the concept is backed by investors including LeBron James, Maria Shriver, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Boston Red Sox co-owner Tom Werner and movie producer John Davis.
To celebrate the grand opening, the Columbia restaurant will offer free pizzas on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. to anyone who follows Blaze Pizza on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook.
