The Palmetto Health Foundation’s 27th Festival of Trees fundraiser benefitting Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital begins today at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

The event will feature a silent auction with hand-crafted art made by patients at the children’s hospital. An auction preview giving guests a chance to bid on items will be held tonight from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the convention center. Admission is $125 at the door.

On Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon, the foundation will hold its first “Santa and Me” event, where children can create plates featuring their handprints and Santa’s. Admission is $25 per child.

The silent auction continues Sunday from noon until closing at 4 p.m., along with entertainment from local choirs and dance groups. Santa will be on hand for pictures, and the “Mascot Madness” parade will also provide entertainment. Admission is $2 per person or $5 per family, with children under 12 admitted free.
