Jason Caskey has been named chair of the board of the directors for the United Way of the Midlands for 2017-2018.

Caskey is managing shareholder at Elliott Davis Decosimo’s Columbia office and is a United Way Tocqueville Society donor. He has served on the board since 2012.

“It’s an exciting time for United Way of the Midlands as we begin our 2017-2018 campaign season,” said Caskey. “Last year the organization hit a record-breaking, $11 million campaign and hired a new president and CEO for the first time in 12 years. We are excited to build on United Way’s continued growth and community impact as we work to make the Midlands a better place to live for everyone.”

Co-chairing the campaign committee are Joan T.A. Gabel, executive vice president for academic affairs and provost at the University of South Carolina, and John Singerling, president at Palmetto Health.

Newly elected board members include Pam Lackey, president of AT&T; Jason Wolfe, founder and president of Wolfe Solutions; and Paul Wright, plant manager of Kraft Foods.

Designated board members include Amy Larkin, CPA at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina; Jason Bristol, senior commercial relationship manager at TD Bank; Camillia Austin, supervisor of operations at Palmetto Health; and Drew Stevens, financial adviser at Northwestern Mutual.

“United Way is a volunteer-driven organization and our board members are an integral part of our success,” said Sara Fawcett, president and CEO of United Way. “We are thankful for their contributions of time and service as we work to strengthen the health, financial stability and education of every person in the Midlands.”
