Love’s Travel Stops adds 100 jobs to new Richland County store

Love’s Travel Stop has opened a 12,000-square-foot store at the interchange of Interstate 77 and Bluff Road (Exit 5) in Lower Richland.

The store will employ about 100 workers, according to a press release issued by the Oklahoma City -based company.

(Photo/Provided) “With its location along Interstate 77 in the greater Columbia, South Carolina, metropolitan area, and its proximity to Interstate 26, we’re in a great place to serve members of the community, as well as leisure travelers and professional drivers,” Tom Love, founder and executive chairman of Love’s, said in the release.

The new location is open 24/7 and includes Chester’s Chicken and McDonald’s restaurants. The facility also has 92 truck-parking spaces and shower facilities for professional truck drivers.

The Bluff Road store is Love’s eighth in South Carolina and second in the Columbia area. The company also has a location at Interstate 20 and Longs Pond Road in Lexington County.

Founded in 1964, the family-owned and operated company has more than 400 locations in 40 states and employs 17,000 people.
