The Maryland state government has chosen Columbia-based Companion Data Services (CDS) for its consulting and technical services (CATS+).
Under the master contract CDS will provide electronic document management, systems and facilities management and maintenance, information systems security, IT management consulting and business process consulting.
“We are proud to partner with the state of Maryland,” said CDS President Lola Jordan. “We will bring to the table solutions based on real world experience, transforming technology support from an organizational inhibitor to a strategic enabler.”
Through CATS+, Maryland government offices have a flexible means of obtaining IT resources quickly and efficiently by issuing task orders specific to their needs. CDS will bid on the task orders over the next 12 years.
CDS, a subsidiary of BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, operates one of the largest health information data centers in the world, processing more than a billion claims daily. It offers secure health care development, managed and hosting services within a large data center complex for the federal, state Medicaid and commercial markets.
