Boyer Commercial Construction of Columbia has hired a veteran with more than 12 years of service in the Marine Corps as a new assistant project manager.

Maj. Josh Greb is a native of Summerville and a 2007 graduate of the University of South Carolina. Greb recently transitioned to civilian life from active duty. He spent the majority of his military career as an AH-1Z Viper attack helicopter pilot. He was one of the first in the Marine Corps to pilot the AH-1Z and was on the leading edge of tactical development of the nation’s newest attack helicopter, according to a news release from Boyer.

Greb deployed in numerous security cooperation efforts, from the south Pacific to the Persian Gulf, on a variety of missions with multiple Marine expeditionary units. He also was selected to instruct the Marine Corps Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron in Yuma, Ariz.

Greb will continue to serve in the Marine Corps Reserves with HMLA-773 out of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J.

“Josh is a gifted leader who represents the best of our nation’s military,” said Brian Boyer, president of Boyer Commercial Construction Inc. “Veterans like Josh make our entire team and community better, and we will be forever grateful for the sacrifices he and his family made serving our country over the past 12 years.”
