Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin will issue a proclamation declaring Oct. 5 Hotel Trundle Day during Tuesday's city council meeting. The boutique hotel was also recently named one of the country's top 5 historic hotels by USA Today.

Nominations open for Historic Columbia’s 2021 preservation awards
The annual awards recognize notable preservation, rehabilitation and restoration projects in Columbia and Richland County as well as the contributions of individuals or organizations to preservation efforts. Nominations are due March 2.

Stevens & Wilkinson has offices in Columbia and Atlanta and has worked on projects including the S.C. State Museum and the S.C. Statehouse. SSOE Group, a global project delivery firm, has offices in Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee.
Garvin Design Group wins adaptive reuse award
The firm was recognized by the America Institute of Architects Columbia for its work on 1649 Main St., originally constructed in the mid-19th century and now home to Hendrix restaurant and The Woody nightclub.
