COLUMBIA, S.C. –  Midlands Gives Day, the highly anticipated 18-hour online giving event, returns on Tuesday, May 7. Over 600 nonprofits from 11 Midlands Counties are participating in Central Carolina Community Foundation’s giving initiative.

Donors can visit MidlandsGives.org to browse their favorite organizations, filtering by county and category. The minimum donation is $10, so anyone can be a philanthropist.

A record-breaking 607 nonprofit organizations are raising funds to make a difference in the Midlands. This year, an anonymous donor, Cheerful Giver, has offered $639,500 in matches to 174 nonprofits. Participating Midlands Gives nonprofits also have a chance to win over $90,000 in sponsor prizes.

To celebrate our community’s spirit of giving, the public is invited to attend a Midlands Gives Block Party at Segra Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 7, rain or shine. Attendees can expect a festive atmosphere with games, complimentary hot dogs, popcorn, and soft drinks while supplies last.

Donors who join the festivities can win exciting prizes, like Columbia Fireflies Fan Experiences, connect with community members, and support Midlands nonprofit organizations.

“Midlands Gives Day is not only about raising funds; it’s about bringing our community together to make a meaningful difference,” says Erin Johnson, vice president of community investment. “Every donation, no matter the size, can transform lives and strengthen our community.”
