Colliers takes over management of downtown Columbia office tower

The Meridian office tower in downtown Columbia is under new management.

Colliers has been selected as the new real estate management services provider for the iconic property, 1320 Main St., which includes a well-known restaurant, according to a news release.

Colliers’ Cheryl Love will oversee the management of the building as senior property manager, supported by three of the property’s current on-site personnel who have joined Colliers, the release stated. Love has more than 25 years of experience providing management for a variety of property types including Class A office buildings and parking garages in Columbia.

“The Meridian is one of the most highly regarded office towers in the Columbia market,” said Kim Butler, senior vice president of Colliers, in the release. “Our Real Estate Management team is thrilled to be chosen to manage the building and we are committed to maintaining the esteemed standards of quality for the property. We are also pleased to welcome three extremely qualified professionals to the team, which will allow us to maintain continuity of service. We look forward to ensuring tenants’ day-to-day needs are not only met but exceeded.”

Yelissa Motta has joined Colliers as assistant property manager, the release stated. In this role she will assist with the day-to-day building operations and provide customer service to tenants.

Lee Lane will remain as the chief building engineer, where he will continue providing oversight and management of the building’s maintenance operations and control systems, the release stated.

John Ciarcia will continue providing maintenance service as a maintenance technician with Colliers, according to the release.

Tommy Johnson, vice president of Colliers South Carolina and office specialist, will continue as brokerage representative for the property, the release stated.

The Meridian is a 335,085-square-foot Class A office building with upscale architectural design, a two-story lobby and contemporary finishes located in the heart of Columbia’s central business district, the release stated.

The 17-story tower is situated just one block from the State Capitol building and a few blocks from the University of South Carolina’s main campus. Its on-site amenities include attached parking, spacious conference suites, kitchen and break areas, an on-site fitness center and more.

The building’s first level features the well-known restaurant, Market on Main, with a gourmet kitchen, full bar, specialty market and unique outdoor patio seating, the release stated.

The building is currently 90% occupied by 31 tenants and has 22,000 square feet available for lease, according to the release.
