COLUMBIA, SC — The First Tuesday Republican Club of the Midlands is scheduled to welcome as guest speaker Columbia Mayor Daniel Rickenmann to their monthly luncheon at Senate’s End, 11:30 a.m., Tuesday.

All media is welcomed to attend the event at Senate’s End, 300 Senate St., Columbia, SC (the last building on the site). The doors will open at 11 a.m. and the program starts at 12 p.m.

Rickenmann was first elected to Columbia City Council in 2004. In 2012 he decided not to seek re-election to focus on his family and business. He decided to run for City Council again in 2017 and won. Rickenmann currently serves as the Mayor of Columbia.

Rickenmann is a 1992 graduate of the University of South Carolina and was an owner and partner in several restaurants in the city. He currently is a partner in several ventures including renewable energy development, a food production company and other small ventures.

Rickenmann and his wife, Dr. Laura Rickenmann are longtime residents of Columbia and have been married for almost 25 years. They have two daughters, Carlyle and Ellie.

First Tuesday Republican Luncheon of the Midlands, established in 1975, is a non-profit social political lunch club and organization focused on educating the public and providing a valuable learning environment for the advancement of the principles of conservative ideals and principles for a better community. Membership is limited to declared Republicans who support the founding principles of the First Tuesday Republican Club and the general principles of the Republican Party. The monthly luncheon is open to the public.
