Award-winning Lego artist Paul Hetherington will bring his work to Columbia at the BrickUniverse Lego Convention, to be held Aug. 11-12 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

Hetherington has won Best in Show five times at the annual Brickcon held in Seattle. His “Batman vs. Joker Gotham Theatre Showdown” was named the 2016 Lego Creation of the Year by The Brothers Brick, an online source of Lego news and reviews. The five award-winning displays will be part of the exhibit.

Greyson Beights, founder of BrickUniverse, said on his website the convention began in March 2015 in Raleigh, N.C. After its Columbia run, the show will travel to Ohio, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Arkansas.

The Columbia convention will feature building zones, professional Lego artists and merchants. Tickets are available online for $15.
