In recognition of Oral Cancer Awareness Month, Carolinas Center for Oral, Facial, Cosmetic & Dental Implant Surgery will be conducting free screenings at their office in Greenville. The event is part of a national initiative called Always April. The goal is to turn oral cancer awareness into a year-round discussion because the death rate remains high due to late detection. Risk factors for oral cancer include alcohol abuse, tobacco use, sun exposure, poor diet, and transmitting HPV.
