The Palmetto Curling Club is excited to announce that Jamie Korab, a Canadian Gold Medalist in Curling at the 2006 Olympics in Turin, Italy, will be in the Upstate promoting the sport. Korab will be visiting local schools, meeting the public, and hosting workshops while promoting the sport of curling. Korab is the featured Olympian in the Olympic Celebration Tour (OCT), sponsored by the World Curling Federation, and is scheduled to make stops at curling clubs in Charlotte, Atlanta, and Greenville. The OCT promotes the sport and spirit of curling.
The itinerary of the Greenville portion of the OCT is as follows:
Monday, February 19, 2018
3 pm: Korab Presentation at Furman –
Going for gold: my life as an Olympic athlete (open to public)
7-10 pm: Corporate Curl-off – at The Avenue – Teams compete in floor curling
Tuesday, February 20, 2018
1:15 to 3:15 pm: Bryson Middle School visit (Korab assembly and floor curling)
4-5 pm: Pavilion after school care program (Korab presentation)
5-7 pm: at Pavilion for media (Korab available for interview)
7 – 11 pm: Learn to Curl, Open House at Pavilion (open to public)

8:25 to 10:15 am: Paris Elementary School (Korab assembly and floor curling)
10:30 am to 1:30 pm: Sevier Middle School (Korab assembly and floor curling)
