The Charleston Symphony Orchestra League, Inc. (CSOL®) is pleased to present a luncheon featuring internationally renowned watercolorist Mary Whyte and members of the Charleston Symphony, led by Concertmaster and Principal Pops Conductor Yuriy Bekker, at the Charleston Marriott on Lockwood Blvd on Thursday, October 17. Seating begins at 11:00 am.
Mary will share inspirational stories from the veterans whose portraits she painted, one from each of the 50 States, that comprise her new book, WE THE PEOPLE: Portraits of Veterans in America. Music by members of the Charleston Symphony will highlight the emotion of those stories, and Mary will reflect on the life lessons she learned during her seven-year creative process. Special guest Angela Mack, Executive Director and Chief Curator of The Gibbes Museum of Art will introduce Mary and the program.
Tickets are priced from $130 to $225, with various benefits available at each level. Sponsorship opportunities are available as well. Portions of each ticket are tax-deductible. Proceeds of the event benefit the Charleston Symphony and CSOL Music Scholarships.
