Downtown Columbia office building sold

A psychological practice has purchased an office building in downtown Columbia.

Colliers South Carolina’s Mary Winter Teaster represented the seller, KEM Properties LLC, and Matthew Pollard represented the buyer, Nick Lind Psychological Associates LLC, in the sale of a 2,320-square-foot office building located at 1518 Lady St. in Columbia, according to a news release.

Built in 1930, 1518 Lady Street is a home-turned-office building located in Downtown Columbia’s Central Business District just a few blocks from the South Carolina statehouse.

Financial terms of the sale were not disclosed.

“As a well-preserved historic home that was converted to an office years ago, this location provides a comfortable atmosphere essential for providing counseling services,” said Teaster in the release. “Matthew and I agreed it was the perfect fit and environment to serve Dr. Lind’s staff and clients.”

The property buyer, Nick Lind Psychological Associates LLC, will open a new psychological practice at this location, according to the release. Lind specializes in trauma recovery therapy for individuals who have been victimized by crime, abuse and interpersonal violence.

“This property was love at first sight for me,” said Lind in the release. “The realization solidified after Matthew patiently reviewed all the other options. Mary Winter was quick to address and resolve my concerns about parking, and I felt like we were all on the same team in realizing my vision.”

Teaster and Pollard are both senior brokerage associates with Colliers South Carolina. Teaster specializes in local small businesses, women-owned businesses and nonprofit organizations in the historic areas of downtown Columbia. Pollard specializes in healthcare and office property leasing and sales on behalf of tenants and purchasers.
