ECPI University has been ranked No. 1 in the nation by Military Times in the career and technical college category in the publication’s annual Best for Vets survey for the second straight year. ECPI University has made the list every year since the survey began and has ranked in the top three in seven out of eight years.

ECPI University is a private for-profit university with campuses in Columbia, Greenville and Charleston, in addition to North Carolina, Virginia, Florida and Texas.

Military Times ranks the best colleges and universities for veterans and military service members every year. The rankings are based on a school-by-school assessment of veteran and military student services, along with rates of academic achievement, according to a news release from ECPI.

Institutions are evaluated in five categories, including university culture, student support, academic policies, academic outcomes, cost and financial aid.

ECPI had a military and veteran enrollment of 3,741 for fall 2018, and a 57% military graduation rate, according to the online rankings.

“Nearly one out of every seven staff members at ECPI is a veteran, giving the school one of the highest proportions of vet employees of any school considered for this year’s rankings,” Military Times survey editors said. “That can go a long way toward helping a school understand the needs of its student population. And on top of that, the school conducts surveys of its student vets at least twice per year to gauge their satisfaction with the school and its services. ECPI also has special degree programs for troops and vets, in cybersecurity and electronics engineering that allow them to leverage their military training and experience to earn degrees quickly.”
