Irmo Wellness Center, a two-story, 43,480-square-foot building at 7182 Woodrow St., is complete. The building is the second that Mashburn Construction has built for S.C. Internal Medicine.
The building was constructed using 66 tilt-up concrete panels, which are formed and poured flat before being tilted into place and supported with an internal structural steel frame.
“This was truly a team effort from start to finish, with an extremely aggressive schedule,” Lee Mashburn, president of Mashburn Construction, said in a news release. “We are fortunate to be able to work with the S.C. Internal Medicine team for a second time and look forward to seeing these tenants thrive in their new building.”
Mashburn constructed a building in 2004 that S.C. Internal Medicine has outgrown, the release said.
Seven tenants are in the new building, also including Columbia Podiatry, Rejuvenations Medical Spa, Columbia Rehab, Quest Diagnostics, Palmetto Imaging, and Palmetto ENT. The exterior tilt-up panels include a brick veneer and inlay along with ample parking.
