Midlands workforce training program accepting applications

Listen to this articleThe Midlands Workforce Development Board is now accepting applications in anticipation of Incumbent Worker Training program funds.
The program provides training to current workers to keep businesses competitive. Private-sector employers in Fairfield, Lexington and Richland counties faced with changing skill requirements caused by new technology, product lines or organizational structuring may be eligible for the program.
Funds are limited to skills-based training and requiring a matching contribution from an employer.
Applications are available at www.midlandsworkforce.org and must be submitted by March 3 for priority consideration, according to the organization’s website. Applications must include a detailed description for each training piece and will only be accepted at mwdb@midlandsworkforce.org.
