New Board Members & New Building as The Therapy Place continues to Grow Its Services

FOREST ACRES, S.C. – An expansion of 1,300 square feet calls for more board members to shoulder the larger role that The Therapy Place will have in the community.  Sierra Artemus and Alex Sturgis were unanimously approved to join the Board of Directors this month, making this the largest Board of The Therapy Place since its inception in 2009.

Sierra Artemus is a name many are familiar from her role as producer and host on WIS-TV’s popular Soda City Live afternoon program.  Artemus has done stories on The Therapy Place, has friends whose children receive services at the clinic and will be the host of its largest fundraiser this fall – Therapalooza:  The Greatest Show in the Southeast on September 22.

Professionally, Alex Sturgis serves as Business Development Manager at Siemens Industry but around The Therapy Place, he is Eleanor’s dad.  Alex and his wife, Melanie, have 4 children, of whom Eleanor is a graduate of the Bridges Preschool at The Therapy Place and continues to receive therapy services.

The now fifteen-member board is poised for an open house and ribbon cutting, once the expansion is complete, to show off the new space.  The building addition will allow for increasing the number of children served in the therapeutic preschool and receiving the TheraSuit Method, of which The Therapy Place is the only clinic offering the program in South Carolina.
