The city of West Columbia will hold its first Meeting Street Music Fest on the 500-700 blocks of Meeting Street from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16. The event will showcase a wide array of musical genres, including nationally and regionally known artists.

Performers will include the Reggie Sullivan Band, Turnstiles – the Ultimate Tribute to the Music of Billy Joel and national R&B artist Meli’sa Morgan.

Morgan has performed around the world, including the United Kingdom, Japan and the Netherlands, and has shared stages with artists such as Patti Labelle and the Whispers.

“I am excited for the first Meeting Street Music Fest,” said West Columbia Mayor Tem Miles. “For decades, West Columbia has been home to a wonderful live music scene. I am so proud that this festival will expand the heritage of live music in our city that has been created by New Brookland Tavern, Bill’s Pickin’ Parlor, Chayz Lounge, and Savage Craft Ale Works.”

Food and drink will also be available for visitors to the event.

“I have no doubt that the Meeting Street Music Fest will leave a lasting impression on every attendee,” said Chaye Alexander, owner of Chayz Lounge on Meeting Street and a member of the event planning committee.

More updates about the event will be available over the next several weeks at the official event website and on Facebook. For information about becoming a vendor, email events@westcolumbiasc.gov.
