United Airlines will resume nonstop service from the Columbia Metropolitan Airport to Houston in October.

The flight will begin Oct. 6, according to a news release from the airport.

CAE also announced an 18.6% increase in passengers year-to-date from 2018, with more than 659,000 passengers traveling through the airport so far in 2019.

“With over 659,000 passengers traveling through CAE since January, we continue to be on track for another record-breaking year,” airport executive director Mike Gula said.

In May, American Airlines began nonstop service to New York/LaGuardia, while Delta added a second nonstop flight to LaGuardia in June. American will begin a nonstop flight to Miami in December.

“We’re thankful to our current airline partners for providing additions to their air service programs for passengers,” Gula said. “It’s great to see more and more of the community supporting CAE by flying local, and we encourage everyone to continue doing so.”
