SDG provided site selection services and facilitated negotiations with state and local government officials and utilities, president Mark Williams said. The Bangkok, Thailand, company will restart a dormant ethane cracker facility near Lake Charles, La., in a $175 million capital investment.

“Incentives played a major role in the company’s ability to open a new U.S. facility and we were honored to negotiate with state and local leaders on the company’s behalf, resulting in a strong package,” Williams said.

The facility will create 600-plus direct and indirect jobs, continuing a strong year for SDG. The group has also had several other successful projects over the last 12 months, including Commercial Metals Company’s steel mill in Oklahoma, which created 300 jobs, and Bridgestone Americas’ consolidated headquarters facility in Nashville, Tenn., which created 1,700 jobs.
