Red Robin Gourmet Burgers Inc., a fast casual restaurant chain, has opened its newest Midlands location in the Harbison retail district northwest of downtown Columbia.

The restaurant, which opened Monday, is located at the main entrance of the Columbiana Centre across from Forever 21.

The restaurant offers more than two dozen gourmet burgers served with fries and more than 100 different toppings. The menu also offers a variety of salads, entrees, soups and wraps made with the freshest ingredients, many of which are made in-house.

To celebrate the grand opening, Red Robin said it will donate all sales of its Freckled Lemonade through Sunday to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to finding cures for all kids with cancer.

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation was created by 4-year-old childhood cancer patient Alexandra "Alex" Scott, who began raising money through her front yard lemonade stand to help doctors on their way to finding cures for all kids with cancer. Alex's mission continues through Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation and to date, Red Robin has donated more than $600,000 to support the fight against childhood cancer.

Founded in 1969, the Colorado-based-Red Robin reported total revenues for the third quarter of $283.4 million, an increase of 6% while net income rose 14.9% to $8.3 million from $7.2 million.

Year-to-date net income was $36 million, an increase of 25.8%.

At the end of the third quarter there were 418 company-owned restaurants, 10 Red Robin Burger Works and 99 franchised Red Robin restaurants for a total of 527 restaurants.
