The Agribusiness Center for Research and Entrepreneurship is accepting applications for its spring entrepreneurship program through May 1.

The program, an initiative of the S.C Department of Agriculture, provides mentoring, targeted funding and access to grant consultants to entrepreneurs in farming and related fields. Selected applicants could receive up to $25,000 for their company or product.

“In the three years since we launched ACRE, we’ve seen several exciting agribusiness ideas become reality,” Commissioner of Agriculture Hugh Weathers said in a news release. “We’re proud of ACRE’s role in helping innovators create new opportunities for South Carolina farmers.”

Applications, available at acre-sc.com, require a business plan and a prototype or sales history. Applicants must be S.C. residents.
