More than 70 exhibitors are scheduled to take part in the SC Green Industry Association’s conference and trade show, set for Jan. 28 and 29 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

Nine industry speakers will address landscape topics during the event, which will award up to $10,000 in college scholarships to students planning careers in the landscape industry.

The trade show and education seminars will be held from 7:15 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 28 and from 7:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Jan. 29. Presentation topics will include identification and management of invasive insects and plants, tips for water savings in irrigation systems, and landscape business and technology in the green industry.

Attendees can earn continuing education credit hours for the following certifications: South Carolina Pesticide, North Carolina Pesticide, International Society of Arboriculture, North Carolina Irrigation, and Landscape Architect.

“We are thrilled to offer this opportunity for an affordable, one-stop educational conference,” Jim van Dijk, SC Green board president, said in a news release. “We look forward more than ever to having the chance to network and bring our industry together.”

Masks are required at the event, which will include social distancing, temperature checks at the entrance and room capacity restrictions.

Registration is available online.
