The S.C. State 1890 Extension Sustainable Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment Program is hosting a holiday farmers market from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, in Staley Hall on the campus of South Carolina State University in Orangeburg.

Small and minority farmers across the state who have worked with the program will be on campus to sell fresh and locally grown produce. The participating farmers are part of the 1890 Extension’s integrated pest management program, which involved extension agents from S.C. State who trained farmers to grow produce with little or no pesticides.

The event will also feature live food demonstrations and exhibits about the extension program.

For more information contact Cornelius Hamilton, Low Country Extension acting regional director, at (803) 878-9815 or chamilt3@scsu.edu, or Mark Nettles, Midlands Extension Ag agent, at (803) 707-2665 or mnettles@scsu.ed.
