Nominations open for Historic Columbia’s 2021 preservation awards

Nominations for Historic Columbia’s 2021 preservation awards are now open and due March 2.

The annual awards recognize notable preservation, rehabilitation and restoration projects that have maintained or added to the historical, architectural and cultural heritage of Columbia and Richland County as well as the contributions of individuals or organizations.

Awards will be given to single-family home as well as commercial, institutional, rental or municipal projects that meet National Park Service definitions of preservation, rehabilitation or restoration. Revitalization of historic properties that makes a special contribution to the community and/or a pioneering investment will also be recognized, as will the contributions of an individual, corporation, governmental agency, community or neighborhood association.

Nominations should be limited to projects completed within the last five years.
