Architecture firm names new COO

McMillan Pazdan Smith, an architecture firm with locations in Columbia and throughout the state, has named a new COO.

Gettig (Photo/Provided)Mark Gettig previously served as the president of LifeMade, a division of Greer-based manufacturer Jadex Inc. Gettig has also worked in finance, operations, and general management for Jarden Corp., Unilever and Bose.

In his new role, Gettig will focus on financial management, team development and support services optimization across MPS’ seven offices in three states.

“McMillan Pazdan Smith is full of really talented, accomplished people,” Gettig said in a news release. “I’m looking forward to using my experience to be a part of the positive impact this firm is making in all of the communities where we operate.”

Last October, McMillan Pazdan Smith merged with Columbia firm Watson Tate Savoy. MPS also has offices in Greenville, Charleston, Charlotte, Spartanburg, Asheville and Atlanta.  

“We are very excited to have Mark join our firm’s leadership team,” McMillan Pazdan Smith CEO Chad Cousins said. “His prior executive experience across industries adds a new perspective as we expand design services and advisory value for our clients.”

A licensed CPA, Gettig received his MBA in finance and accounting from Boston University.
