Small Business Administration to host grant workshops

The U.S. Small Business Administration is hosting training sessions in Columbia and Charleston for applications for Women’s Business Center grants.

The SBA Women’s Business Center is a national network of more than 100 locations that offer individual counseling and training for women seeking to start businesses or grow their markets through federal contracting opportunities or international trade.

The roundtable training sessions will explain the application process for SBA Women’s Business Center grants, according a news release from the SBA. Eligible applicants for the grants must be private, nonprofit 501(c) tax exempt organizations such as universities, foundations, economic development institutions, or chambers of commerce.

The Columbia session will be held Feb. 4 at 10 a.m. at the Benedict College Business Development Center, located at 2601 Read St. in Columbia. Registration is required.

The Charleston session will be held Feb. 5 at 10 a.m. at Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce Catalyst Center, located at 4500 Leeds Ave. in North Charleston. Registration is required.
