A new partnership between the S.C. Chamber of Commerce and the S.C. Department of Veterans Affairs will provide resources for veterans to connect with the business community.

The Veterans’ Professional Advancement Series will feature quarterly webinars and meetings, an annual event, and the opportunity for veterans to connect with S.C. chamber members and leaders.

The first webinar will be held on April 15 with the Small Business Administration and the second on April 22 with Bank of America, according to a news release. Topics will include creating a business plan and securing business funding. Future webinars will address educational opportunities, workforce issues and marketing a veteran-owned business.

“South Carolina, at its core, is pro-business and pro-military,” Bob Morgan, S.C. Chamber of Commerce CEO, said in the release. “We hope this initiative will create a bridge between South Carolina’s veterans’ community and business community. I believe this crucial connection will continue to make South Carolina the best place in the nation to live, work, and do business for all.”

“We are excited to work with the SC Chamber on this initiative to support Veterans’ success,” Gen. William Grimsley, veterans affairs department secretary, said. “Just like the training and education they received while in uniform, opportunities like this provide the basis to advance their post-military careers and continue leading by personal examples.”
