The University of South Carolina is seeking construction bids to build a 111,061-square-foot indoor-practice facility for the Gamecock football program.
The facility, to be located at USC Gamecock Park — Bluff Road at National Guard Armory Road — will be large enough to contain a regulation-size football field and tall enough to accommodate field goal kicking, according to a solicitation ( .pdf) for bids on the S.C. Business Opportunities website.
The estimated cost of the facility is $10.5 million to $12 million, according to the solicitation.
It will include support facilities, restrooms, storage and training rooms, and parking.
The exterior will be metal, translucent sandwich panels and masonry. The facility will be constructed to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Silver certification standards.
USC is encouraging small and minority-owned businesses to participate in the bidding.
Watson Tate Savory is handling the architecture and engineering work on the project. Questions and correspondence concerning the invitation to bid should be addressed to Gene Bell by email, at email@example.com, or by phone, at 803-799-5181.
Documents and plans are on file for viewing at USC's purchasing website.
Further information about the project can be found at the S.C. Business Opportunities web page.
