Chick-fil-A celebrated the event Thursday and is slated to open its doors in January 2016. It will be owned and operated by Aaron Jackson, the former operator of the Decker Boulevard location who is a 10-year veteran of the company.
“It is an exciting day in Richland County when we can welcome an opportunity for economic growth in our community,” said Torrey Rush, Richland County Council Chairman. “We thank Chick-fil-A for reinvesting back into our county.
“Today we are not only celebrating the groundbreaking of this store, but we are celebrating Chick-fil-a for opening your 16th Midlands location. We are celebrating your multi-million growth margin and the jobs you are providing to our citizens.”
The $716 million Killian’s Crossing development saw the Kroger Marketplace break ground in July, and construction on a Panda Express is also underway. An Applebee’s has also been announced for the live-work-play area.
Jackson said Chick-fil-A, which will offer weekly kids and family nights, has about 75 job slots to fill before opening.
“We are investing back into the community and we are searching for quality people who want to be a part of a winning team,” he said. “We want dedicated and great people to become a part of our family. In return for hard work, we will offer benefits that give you the chance to develop – personally and professionally.”
