The Town of Lexington is soliciting proposals for development on an 8,200-square-foot pad in the town’s amphitheater complex.
Though it will consider different ideas, the town said in a release that it envisions a two-story building with a restaurant on the second floor which will have outdoor seating overlooking the amphitheater. A variety of retail stores on the first floor are also among its desired plans.
The development is part of Lexington’s Icehouse project, which aims to turn a section of town into a hotspot for retail shops, restaurants and entertainment. The plan encompasses a city block at the corner of Main and Church streets in the historic downtown area.
The specific building pad is located on South Church Street near the intersection of South Church and West Main streets.
The deadline for receipt of proposals is 2 p.m. on Oct. 2. Proposals should be addressed to the attention of Sherry Brooks in the Lexington Municipal Complex (Town Hall) at 111 Maiden Lane, Lexington, S.C., 29072. Each proposal must be enclosed in a sealed envelope and labeled “RFP # 15-007 Sale and Development of Town Owned Property.”
