Time for Art gala accepting submissions

Columbia Opportunity Resource is accepting submissions of artwork to be featured at the sixth annual Time for Art gala in November.
The gala will include a silent auction of the artwork, which bidders “pay for” with volunteer hours to Midlands nonprofit agencies instead of money.
Last year, 1,679 volunteer service hours were committed — a record for the gala, according to a news release from Columbia Opportunity Resource. The hours totaled a financial equivalent of $41,454, the news release said.
The Time for Art Gala is an effort to increase awareness of the local arts community, a networking opportunity between the arts community and Midlands-area businesses and nonprofits, and an effort to generate more than 1,700 committed service hours — the goal for the 2019 event.
Applications for featured artists must be submitted by Sept. 15. Tickets to Time for Art go on sale in September.
