Richland Library is joining in downtown Columbia’s monthly First Thursday festivities. A new program series at the library’s main branch will feature a local artist creating original work.
The free program will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the gallery of the main branch at 1431 Assembly St. Attendees can enter a drawing to win an original piece by each week’s featured artist.
Alejandro Garcia Lemos will kick off the series on Feb. 6. He is the founder of Palmetto Luna Arts, a nonprofit promoting Latino art and culture in South Carolina. His exhibit, Bitácora/Travelogue, is on display in the library gallery until Feb. 28.
