Local photographer Marion “Crush” Rush is the newest artist-in-residence at Richland Library.

Rush (Photo/Provided)Rush, a Columbia native, is a full-time, self-employed photographer who chronicles political and civil unrest. His three-month residency, in which he will serve as a liaison between the library and the arts community, will run through Dec. 18.

Rush will help curate digital content on the library’s website, create online programming and play host to virtual artist meet-ups.

Richland Library’s artist-in-residence program, developed in September 2016, aims to connect the Midlands community with local, working artists and to provide creative and educational opportunities to local residents.
