Freight transportation company American Scrappers is establishing operations in Dillon County with the launch of a $15.5 million distribution and logistics center expected to create 200 jobs.
The Goose Creek-based company’s investment will include container storage, logistics operations and a hydroponic facility at 611 Heritage Drive in Lake View. The hydroponic operation will be conducted under the name East Nile Farms.

“The decision to locate in Lake View and in Dillon County was an easy one, and we look forward to growing in this community for many years to come,” American Scrappers president Otis Neal said in a news release. “Dillon County really does have it all: available buildings, infrastructure, talented workforce, an inland port, great logistics and a business-friendly environment.”
American Scrappers, founded in 2014, is expected to generate around $2.8 million in annual revenues.
