Nephron Pharmaceuticals Corp. has donated a critical mission response vehicle to the American Red Cross of South Carolina.

A ribbon-cutting celebration for the new Dodge ProMaster 3500 cargo van will be held Wednesday. The vehicle will provide disaster response assistance, including delivery of relief items, and be used to collect and deliver blood donations, according to a news release from Nephron.

The 2021 van can tow up to 6,700 pounds and lists for a starting price of $30,590, according to ramtrucks.com.

Nephron, headquartered in West Columbia, partnered with Dominion Energy to establish a drive-through vaccination site near its Saxe-Gotha Industrial Park Campus earlier this year. The company has also donated hand sanitizer made in-house to the University of South Carolina and to the Dorn Veterans Affairs Medical Center and partnered with Clemson University to develop rapid robotic drug processing.
