A new initiative of the S.C. Student Loan Corp. will focus on preparing high school and college students for their next level of education or securing a quality job.
Power:Ed, which will provide educational improvement program grants through an application process, launched today. The grants will be awarded to nonprofits, college and organizations that help state students succeed in school, careers and life, Power:Ed director Sara Fisher said in a news release.
“At South Carolina Student Loan, we’ve seen how providing financial aid to students turns goals and dreams into realities,” CEO Trey Simon said in the release. “We’ve launched Power:Ed to extend our reach, because we believe education is the single greatest investment we can make in our students and our state's future.”
Grant applications are now being accepted.
Power:Ed is also looking for partners to contribute to the programs, according to the release.
