Richland Library extends registration deadline

The Richland Library has extended the registration deadline to register for its creative entrepreneurship master classes to Friday

The classes are offered by Midlands-area creative professionals to encourage local residents to turn their creative talents into a sustainable business.

The classes are free, but registration is required. Click here for a schedule or to register.

Emily Stoll, Richland Library community and media relations coordinator, said more than 30 people had signed up for the classes as of Aug. 12 and the library wanted to provide interested participants more time to register.

The classes will be taught by nationally recognized entrepreneurs in various genres including FatRat Da Czar, music; Shennice Cleckly, culinary; Sherard Duvall, filmmaking; Sara Kennedy, coding; and Melissa Giglio, jewelry making.

The classes begin this month and continue until April 2020.

The library is also holding is annual back-to-school book sale on Sunday. The sale, one of four held each year, will take place at the Richland Library Operations Center, located at 130 Lancewood Road, from 2 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.

More than 30,000 gently used books, music CDs and DVD videos are available for sale in a variety of genres. Paperback book prices start at $1, while hardback books start at $2.

Richland Library Friends and Foundation hosts books sales in the winter, spring, summer and fall, raising more than $60,000 for the library each year. The group also accepts gently used books, CDs or DVDs for future sales. Click here for information.
