A new website offering digital teaching and learning resources for teachers, parents and students has been launched by the S.C. Department of Education.

SCRemoteLearning.com provides instructional resources, developed internally and vetted by outside sources, that can be used by teachers and remote learners across all grade levels, according to a news release.

“I know that remote learning can be challenging for everyone,” S.C. Superintendent of Education Molly Spearman said in the release. “We are committed to supporting both our teachers, who are working hard to make it possible for our students to learn at home, and parents and students, who are doing a great job of adjusting to these changes.”

Website links include a virtual field trip to the San Diego Zoo, digital games and a worldwide pen pal project.

Additional content will be added to the website as it is developed and vetted, according to the release.

S.C. public schools are closed through April because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
