An expert on U.S.-China relations will address an online forum presented by the University of South Carolina’s Folks Center for International Business on Oct. 1.

David Firestein, president and CEO of the George H.W. Bush Foundation for U.S.-China Relations, will discuss current challenges and future outlooks in U.S.-China relations, focusing on trade frictions and public and corporate perspectives, according to a news release.

The free Firestein forum, to be held on Zoom from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., is presented in partnership with USC’s School of Journalism and Mass Communications. Registration is available online.

Firestein previously was the founding executive director of The University of Texas at Austin’s China Public Policy Center and a clinical professor at UT’s Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs. He also served as senior vice president and Perot Fellow at the EastWest Institute.

The forum is sponsored by the Rachel and Jim Hodges Fund.
