The S.C. Technical College System and Webster University have signed an agreement aimed at easing the transfer process from South Carolina’s 16 technical colleges to the Columbia-based university and its four statewide campuses.

Upon completing an associate degree with a grade of C or better in each required course, students can enter Webster University with junior standing, according to a news release. Transferred credits will be applied toward a bachelor’s degree.

Graduates of S.C. technical colleges will also receive reduced tuition, according to the release.

“This memorandum of understanding is a wonderful opportunity for our students,” Tim Hardee, president of the S.C. Technical College System, said. “Accessibility, affordability and relevance are key tenets of our System. This collaborative agreement works to strengthen those fundamental values by expanding access for our students to a baccalaureate education with a dynamic university that provides both geographical accessibility and scheduling flexibility to accommodate our students and ensure their educational success.”
