New Benedict College program aims to sharpen digital skills

College students who need to learn digital skills to compete in today’s workforce are the target of a new science, technology, engineering and math-focused program at Benedict College.  

ServiceNow will be investing $1 million to establish a partnership program at the school. ServiceNow is a California-based cloud-based workflow automation platform that helps businesses and organizations streamline work processes.  

“Our partnership with ServiceNow presents a tremendous opportunity for Benedict students who will soon join the skilled workforce driving our nation’s economy,” Roslyn Clark Artis, president and CEO of Benedict College, said in a news release. “Benedict is at the forefront of fueling education and innovation in STEM, and our efforts are in lockstep with ServiceNow’s goals to bridge the widening digital skills gap and grow a more diverse workforce.”  

The partnership will provide access to technology and resources, including scholarship and internship opportunities as well as a state-of-the-art ServiceNow Tech Center. A ServiceNow Tech Scholars Program will provide students access to the ServiceNow NextGen Academy, a two-month program designed to help participants take part in the digital economy and move directly into employment.  

Students will also have the opportunity to meet with a ServiceNow adviser and visit the ServiceNow headquarters in Santa Clara.

ServiceNow is the defining enterprise software company of the 21st century and this partnership, among others, will help us continue to ensure a more diverse workforce.”
