SCANA Corporation, along with the City of Cayce, held a dedication for the new welcome sign that is positioned 12th Street Extension near I-77.
The new stone and mortar sign was completed last month, and a ribbon cutting ceremony was held Friday, Feb. 3. SCANA, the parent company of SCE&G, has been in Cayce since 2009.
“Our entryway to the city is now even more beautiful thanks to the new sign donated by CMC Steel and SCE&G,” Cayce Mayor Elise Partin said. “They have set a tone of investment where you work, and that mindset and subsequent actions create benefits that will be reaped for a long time.”
Cayce has 13,000 residents and more than 700 businesses that span across 17 miles of Lexington County. SCANA Corporation headquarters, Lexington Medical Center, Amazon and Nephron Pharmaceuticals are just a few businesses located in the area.
“It’s much more than a sign, it’s also a nod to the growth and development of the area,” SCE&G president of retail operations Keller Kissam said. “When we dedicated to put our headquarters here, we knew the great potential this area had for expansion and economic growth.”
“Signs of growth are everywhere for this city,” Cayce Beautification Foundation president Butch Kelly said. “From construction and for sale signs on commercial lots to new hotels and restaurants, we know the future is bright for this area.”
