Columbia welcomes six new Mayor’s Fellows

Six Midlands students have been admitted into this fall’s city of Columbia Mayor’s Fellows program. The program allows undergraduate and graduate students to experience firsthand the operation of local government.

More than 200 students have participated in the Mayor’s Fellows program. Applications are available for the spring semester.

The fall fellows are:

  • Samantha Auerbach of Stirling, N.J., is a sophomore at the University of South Carolina studying political science.
  • Patrick Dixon of Blythewood is studying marketing at Midlands Technical College.
  • Annie O’Halloran of Berkeley Heights, N.J., is a senior at USC majoring in international studies and double-minoring in Spanish and psychology.
  • Desi Hambrock of Fernandina Beach, Fla. is a sophomore in USC’s Darla Moore School of Business majoring in international business, finance and management with minors in French and data analytics.
  • Jereme Hines of Fort Mill is a senior double majoring in history and political science at USC.
  • Ashley Payne of Beaufort is a senior studying criminal justice and Spanish at USC.
