The Greater Blythewood Chamber of Commerce is searching for a new executive director after Mike Switzer resigned to dedicate more time to business ventures.
Switzer served as executive director since 2014. His resignation was announced Friday in a news release.
“I am proud to have led the Chamber during this period of tremendous growth,” Switzer said in the release. “I am grateful for the many businesses who have joined the Chamber and for all who have given of their time and talents to help the Chamber and our community grow and prosper.”
The Chamber board appointed Phil Frye, managing director of Pee Dee Enterprises Ltd. and former chair-elect of the board, to serve as interim manager. Frye was named the Chamber’s community service volunteer of the year in December.
“We are very grateful to Mike for his years of service to the Chamber and for all he has done to support our business community,” Matt Cunningham, chair of the Chamber board, said. “The Chamber would not be where it is today were it not for Mike. We wish Mike the best with his business ventures.”
The release said information about a search for a new executive director will be announced soon.
