The S.C. Department of Revenue has extended the state tax deadline until June 1.

Penalty and interest will not be charged if payment is made by June 1, the department said in a news release. The change is being made to assist taxpayers during the new coronavirus outbreak and includes individual and corporate income taxes, sales and use tax, admissions tax and other taxes filed and paid with the revenue department.

The SCDOR is automatically applying this tax relief to all applicable returns, and no additional action is necessary, the department said.

The department encourages taxpayers to use its free online tax system, MyDORWAY, to manage state taxes, and to file state taxes online.
