Richland County is polling residents for feedback on a potential face covering requirement.

The potential ordinance would follow guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which recommend face coverings for most people age 2 and older to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, according to a news release from the county.

The city of Columbia began requiring face coverings within city limits on June 26. Greenville and Charleston also have mask ordinances in place.

Richland County Council has not proposed an ordinance requiring face coverings.

An online poll is available on the county’s website at richlandcountysc.gov/FaceMaskSurvey. County staff can also be reached with feedback at 803-576-2169 or at masks@richlandcountysc.gov.
